Blessed British Academy
Everything you need to know about the British curriculum, Cambridge assessments, admissions, and student life at Blessed British Academy, Ibadan.
The British curriculum, also known as the National Curriculum of England, is structured around Key Stages that emphasise critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and continuous assessment rather than relying solely on terminal examinations. It is internationally recognised and widely adopted by schools across the globe. The Nigerian curriculum, on the other hand, follows the NERDC framework with a focus on content delivery and national examinations. At Blessed British Academy, we deliver the British curriculum while incorporating relevant Nigerian cultural and civic content so that pupils benefit from a world-class education grounded in their local context.
Yes, our pupils are prepared for Cambridge international assessments at the appropriate stages. These externally moderated assessments provide an objective benchmark of each child's academic progress against international standards. Cambridge qualifications are recognised by universities, employers, and governments around the world, giving our graduates a competitive advantage when they pursue further education locally or abroad.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) covers children from birth to age 5 and focuses on learning through play, personal development, communication, and physical growth. Key Stage 1 (KS1) is for children aged 5 to 7 (Year 1 and Year 2) and introduces formal literacy, numeracy, and science. Key Stage 2 (KS2) is for children aged 7 to 11 (Year 3 to Year 6) and builds on foundational skills with more depth in subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, and Computing. At Blessed British Academy, we follow this structured progression to ensure each child develops at the right pace.
Yes, absolutely. The skills and knowledge gained through the British curriculum are fully transferable to the Nigerian education system. Because we teach core academic competencies at a high standard, our pupils are well-prepared to transition to Nigerian secondary schools if parents choose that path. Many of our graduates have seamlessly moved into leading Nigerian secondary schools and performed exceptionally well, including at God's Blessing Comprehensive College.

Fees vary by year group and are payable on a termly basis. For a detailed fee schedule, please contact our admissions office directly or reach out to us on WhatsApp. We are committed to providing excellent value for the investment parents make in their children's education.
Admissions begin with an enquiry, which can be made in person, by phone, or online. Parents are invited to tour the school and meet with our admissions team. An application form is then completed along with submission of the child's birth certificate, immunisation records, previous school reports (where applicable), and passport photographs. For pupils entering Key Stage 1 and above, a baseline assessment is carried out to determine the appropriate year group placement. Once all requirements are met, a formal offer letter is issued.
School hours run from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils, Monday through Friday. The EYFS section runs from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. We also offer an extended day programme until 4:30 PM, which includes supervised homework time, enrichment activities, and creative play. This option is available for parents who require additional after-school care.
English is the primary language of instruction at Blessed British Academy, as it is with all British curriculum schools globally. Pupils are immersed in English from the earliest stages, building strong fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. In addition, we offer French as a modern foreign language and Yoruba as a local language subject, ensuring that pupils develop multilingual competence and cultural awareness.
Yes. The British curriculum is one of the most widely recognised educational frameworks in the world. Qualifications obtained through Cambridge international assessments are accepted by universities and institutions in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Europe, and across Africa. Pupils educated under the British curriculum are well-positioned for further studies both in Nigeria and internationally.
We offer a rich programme of extracurricular activities designed to develop the whole child. These include swimming, football, ballet and dance, music and choir, art and craft, coding and robotics, public speaking, and drama. Pupils also participate in educational excursions, inter-school competitions, and community service projects. Our goal is to nurture well-rounded individuals with confidence, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills.
We maintain small class sizes, typically between 15 and 20 pupils per class, to ensure that every child receives personalised attention. Smaller class sizes allow our teachers to identify individual learning needs, provide targeted support, and create a more engaging and interactive classroom experience. This is one of the key advantages of our school and a cornerstone of our teaching approach.
Academic quality is maintained through several measures. Our teachers are qualified and undergo regular professional development aligned with British curriculum standards. We use formative and summative assessments to track pupil progress throughout the year. Our curriculum is reviewed and updated regularly to stay current with best practices. We also benchmark our pupils' performance against international standards through Cambridge assessments. Parent feedback and regular internal reviews ensure we continue to deliver excellence.
